Building vocabularies with art

Beside creativity, we also teach our students terminologies. These term can be apply to every day uses or observation. This month, our kids classes are learning about symmetry and overlapping. These are very common term that use in arts as well as in school. It helps them to develop understanding and descriptive skill.


Concept: Who looking at you?

Level: MIQ-Kids

You can see that the students apply symmetry into drawing the leaves and overlapping the leaves, creating layers to hide the main object in the back. Despite the main object is in the back, they background is actually the leaves that are in the front.


They would also learn different dimension with the overlapping concept, and learn the main object as well as what in the background. Drawing on a flat plain, yet they can create a dimension with other arts and design.


MIQ-Kids are 4.5 years to 7 years old. They also get a hands on practicing cutting skill, which enhance their hand muscles. This will help them in controlling their hand movement , which allowing coloring and controlling much easier as they progress.
